It is a congenital disorder, wherein, the distal ureter bulges out like a pouch. It may interfere with an effective drainage of urine from the kidneys into the bladder, thus causing a swelling of the kidneys.
The symptoms usually are: Loin pain, radiating from flank to groin, genitals or abdominal. UTI, painful urination, increased frequency and urgency, foul smelling urine, blood in urine, urinary incontinence and rarely abdominal mass.
Treatment: endoscopic incision of the ureterocele.
